The #1 Skill for Creative Freedom: PLAY!

Feeling stuck in a creative rut? Or curious about how to tap into the magic of AI experimentation? Let's dive into the playful world of creativity together.

🧪 Experimentation as a Superpower

If you don't try AI, you won't know what it is. If you don't play (in general), you won't enjoy its pleasures!

In the video above, Allie Miller reminds us: 'You can't understand the value of AI—or creativity—without playing with it.' In her signature caffeinated style, she drives home the power of experimentation and rapid iteration. And she's right: play is where the magic happens.

Speaking of play, let me share a game-changing tool I've discovered through experimentation—ElevenLabs' GenFM.

🎧 AI Meets Creativity: Try GenFM

Ever wanted to turn dense articles or PDFs into quick, conversational audio summaries? Meet GenFM by ElevenLabs. With just a few taps, this free app transforms your reading list into a personalized podcast experience—perfect for multitasking while cooking or commuting! 👇

NotebookLM's ground-breaking Audio Summary feature is only two months old, and now generative AI audio leader, Eleven Labs, has simplified and expanded on those mind-boggling capabilities with its new GenFM feature. GenFM is part of the iOS ElevenLabs Reader app. (Yes. It’s free to play with! 🆓.)

GenFM is simpler to use because it's an iPhone app (soon for Android too). The ElevenLabs Reader app was already useful because it reads to you, turning virtually any source of text into a customizable audiobook-like listening experience.

Now, Reader's GenFM summarizes your latest "thing you want to read but don't feel like reading with your eyes" into that chatty two-person AI-generated audio podcast format, and it does this with comparable ease. 🎧

I tested it with Allie Miller's 29-page Annual Goal Planning Template. GenFM turned it into an 11-minute conversational summary, and I listened to it while prepping dinner. It saved me time and gave me a solid, easy-to-listen-to overview of Allie's planning process. ⏰

🖌️ Your Turn to Play

How will you be more creative this week? Please reply and let me know. I’d love to hear!

Hi Reader, In the last 24 hours, something magical happened. During one of our weekly live Creativity Sandbox Community sessions, I felt a spark—a nudge, really—to reconnect with something I’ve always loved: playing music and singing. In this case, it meant re-engaging with my on-again, off-again relationship with my electronic piano. Earlier that day, I had discovered an online piano teacher, Brianne Paik, whose approach felt tailor-made for me. She’s all about making music accessible,...
